Forward som fått sin hockeyuppfostran i Mora IK. Var klubben trogen under drygt 15 A-lagssäsonger. Fick chansen fyra gånger i juniorlandslaget och ansågs vara en av svensk hockeys stora löften i ungdomsåren.

Som spelare var Bo Olsson mycket målfarlig vilket han inte minst visade under sina år med Mora IK i division 2. Som 22-åring vann han exempelvis division 2 östra A:s målskytteliga tillsammans med lagkamraten Evert Tysk på tjugo mål vardera.
